Macho Again

Trainer: Dallas Stewart
Jockey: Garrett Gomez
Owner: West Point Thoroughbreds
Breeder: Milan Kosanovich

Macho Again has been a fringe player on the Triple Crown trail this year, finishing off the board in the two graded races in which he started. He did win the ungraded Derby Trial on opening day of the Churchill Downs spring meet. Though Macho Again has not won beyond 7 1/2 furlongs, he is bred top and bottom to appreciate two turns. His paternal grandsire is the great Holy Bull, and he is out of a mare by Wild Again, winner of the inaugural Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I). That breeding carried him to a surprising second place finish in the Preakness (gr. I). He could get another shot at Big Brown in the Belmont (gr. I). Read more here.
