Riley Tucker

Trainer: William Mott
Jockey: Edgar Prado
Owner: Zayat Stables
Breeder: Formal Gold LLC

Named after Trainer Bill Mott's son, Riley Tucker the horse has run in some of the top races in the country. He always seems to be there at the end, but victories have been hard to come by. He broke his maiden in his first start as a 2-year old and followed that up with two graded stakes placings (3rd in the Saratoga Special (gr. III) and 2nd in the Arlington-Washington Futurity (gr. III)). This year, he has finished 2nd in the Transylvania (gr. III) and 3rd in the Lexington (gr. II). Read more here.

Preakness Profile: Riley Tucker

Ahmed Zayat sent two runners to the Derby who wound up chasing Big Brown home. For the Preakness, Zayat Stables' will send out Riley Tucker, a son of Harlan's Holiday who has earned a shot.

Seven Confirmed for Preakness

With the May 17 Preakness Stakes (gr. I) 11 days away, the field set to test Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) winner Big Brown continues to change as the connections of some of the top 3-year-olds weigh a start in the middle jewel of racing's Triple Crown at Pimlico Race Course.

Behindatthebar in Front in Lexington

Two weeks ago, Todd Pletcher was sitting on the outside of the Derby picture looking in. But when Padua Stables and partners' Behindatthebar followed the hard-knocking efforts of Monba and Cowboy Cal in the April 12 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (gr. I) with an impressive performance of his own in the $325,000 Coolmore Lexington Stakes (gr. II) April 19, the venerable trainer could count not one, but three potential contenders for the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I).

Boss Lafitte Uses Rail in Transylvania

Uptown Racing's Boss Lafitte used a rail-skimming trip under Robby Albarado and took over in upper stretch to win by a half-length in the $150,000 Central Bank Transylvania Stakes on a rainy opening day April 4 at Keeneland.

Wicked Style Won't Be Denied in Arlington Futurity

Wicked Style may have been light on experience heading into the $198,500 Arlington-Washington Futurity (gr. III) but the 2-year-old showed plenty of grit, fighting back after being overtaken in the stretch to defeat Riley Tucker by a head at Arlington Park Sept. 1.
